Henry Hull (1890-1977) was an American actor who worked in theater and film. The Henry Hull scrapbooks and memorabilia date from 1907 to 1956. The collection contains four scrapbooks, which document Hull's career from 1930 to 1936; the scrapbooks are very brittle and primarily hold clippings. Productions represented in the scrapbooks include
Grand Hotel (1930) and
Tobacco Road (1933). The collection also contains letters from audience members praising Hull's performance as Jeeter Lester in
Tobacco Road. There are a small number of loose clippings, dating from 1919 to the 1950s. The earliest clippings regard the death of Hull's brother, actor Shelley Hull. The later clippings primarily relate to Hull's performance as Mark Twain at the Library of Congress in 1956. There are also four postcards in the collection, three of which are personal photographs. The earliest of these dates to 1907.
